We (Sebastián and Alejandra) are collecting voluntary contributions from friends and acquaintances to help specific families we know in Pereira (Colombia) recover from the earthquake of the 10th of August 2026. Pereira was one of the most affected cities, and the families we know lived in the places of the city worst hit by the earthquake. These families lost all their belongings in the earthquake, and they need rent relief for some months, funds to to eat, to furnish their new homes, and to sustain their dependents.
We will collect the money and transfer it directly to them. This is a private fundraising initiative, not a charitable organization. Contributions are voluntary and are not tax-deductible.
We will keep a simple record of all contributions received and funds transferred, so that it is transparent how the collected money was used. For protecting private data, we won't publish by default any personal information about contributors or recipients without their consent. Upon request, we can show our records privately to contributors and recipients. If you wish to remain anonymous, no personal information whatsoever will be included in the records.
We are not alone, but part of a network. If you wish to help in some other way, we will include further links to other private individuals collecting money for people they know. We include these links because we know they have personal connections to these places, and the impact of funds will be important and concrete.

August 2026 zu erholen. Pereira war eine der am stärksten betroffenen Städte, und die Familien, die wir kennen, lebten in den Stadtteilen, die am schwersten getroffen wurden. Diese Familien haben durch das Erdbeben ihren gesamten Besitz verloren und brauchen für einige Monate Unterstützung bei der Miete, Geld zum Essen, zur Einrichtung ihrer neuen Wohnungen und zur Versorgung ihrer Angehörigen.
Wir sammeln das Geld und überweisen es direkt an sie. Dies ist eine private Hilfsaktion und keine gemeinnützige Organisation. Die Beiträge sind freiwillig und steuerlich nicht absetzbar.
Wir führen eine einfache Übersicht über alle eingegangenen Beiträge und weitergeleiteten Beträge, damit nachvollziehbar ist, wie das gesammelte Geld verwendet wurde. Zum Schutz persönlicher Daten veröffentlichen wir standardmäßig keine persönlichen Informationen über Spender:innen oder Empfänger:innen ohne deren Zustimmung. Auf Anfrage können wir unsere Aufzeichnungen privat gegenüber Spender:innen und Empfänger:innen offenlegen.
Wir sind nicht allein, sondern Teil eines Netzwerks. Wenn du auf andere Weise helfen möchtest, verlinken wir weitere Privatpersonen, die Geld für Menschen sammeln, die sie persönlich kennen. Wir verlinken diese, weil wir wissen, dass sie persönliche Verbindungen zu diesen Orten haben und die Wirkung der Spenden dadurch konkret und bedeutend ist.

Pereira fue una de las ciudades más afectadas, y las familias que conocemos vivían en las zonas de la ciudad más golpeadas por el terremoto. Estas familias perdieron todas sus pertenencias en el terremoto y necesitan ayuda con el alquiler durante algunos meses, además de fondos para comer, amueblar sus nuevos hogares y sostener a las personas que dependen de ellas.
Recolectaremos el dinero y se lo transferiremos directamente a ellas. Esta es una iniciativa privada de recaudación, no una organización benéfica. Los aportes son voluntarios y no son deducibles de impuestos.
Registraremos todos los aportes recibidos y los montos transferidos, para que quede claro cómo usamos el dinero recaudado. Para proteger los datos personales, por defecto no publicaremos información personal sobre quienes aportan o quienes reciben sin su consentimiento. Si lo solicitan, podemos mostrar nuestros registros de forma privada a quienes aportan y a quienes reciben.
No estamos solos, sino parte de una red. Si deseas ayudar de otra manera, incluiremos enlaces a otras personas privadas que están recolectando dinero para gente que conocen. Incluimos estos enlaces porque sabemos que tienen conexiones personales con esos lugares, y el impacto de los fondos será concreto e importante.
